Easter
Easter is a Christian feast day to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and suffering after the Crucifixion. For Christians, Easter is the celebration of the most sacred event in the life of Jesus Christ that a marker that Jesus is Savior. Date of Easter Celebrations

Easter celebrations in Indonesia
In Indonesia, Easter is celebrated by Christians Protestants to hold church services since Friday. Meanwhile, Catholics commemorate Easter starting on Wednesday (Ash Wednesday) through Sunday (Sunday) Palm at various Catholic churches in Indonesia. Many churches held a drama that tells the suffering of the Cross of Jesus Christ toward crucifixion, visiting orphanages, or hold social work to commemorate the feast of the Passover.
One of the most popular Easter celebrations in Indonesia took place in the Chapel of Mr. Ma, Larantuka City, East Nusa Tenggara. Every year before Easter, the place is visited by tens of thousands of pilgrims who want to see the statue of the Virgin Mary or Mater Dolorosa. On the day of Easter, Chapel of Mr. Ma, held a Mr. Ma ceremony or ritual cleansing statue of Our Lady. After the ceremony, pilgrims allowed into the chapel and do homage to the statue of the Virgin Mary by candlelight and sing songs of praise. In addition to Easter, the general public is not allowed to see the statue of the Virgin Mary or Mater Dolorosa at Chapel of Mr. Ma.
