Taro Elephant Safari Park

Taro Elephant Safari Park 1

Taro Elephant Safari Park was officially opened by the Minister of Tourism in the year 2000 after three years of development.  An official member of the World Zoo Association, the Park meets International Standards for animal care and is set in more than 2 hectares of exotic eco tourism landscaped botanical gardens, surrounded by national forest. Acclaimed as the World’s Best Elephant Park, facilities include a full Reception and Information Centre, a comprehensive Museum, with a large collection of elephant memorabilia and the only Mammoth Skeleton in South East Asia.  A visit to the Elephant Safari Park is a must for any visitor to Bali.  Get up close and personal with these incredible animals in a beautiful tropical park setting.  Elephants can be seen immersing themselves in the park lake, in between riding, painting or other activities.  Hand feed them, touch them, take photos with them, then learn more about the elephants ancestry and diversity at the Park’s historical and graphic displays.

What You Can See Around Taro Elephant Safari Park
1. Ubud Monkey Forest, the monkeys within the Sacred Monkey Forest of Padangtegal are commonly called long-tailed macaques. Their scientific name is Macaque fascicular. Macaques are found throughout Southeast Asia and many species of macaques live successfully in areas that are heavily utilized by humans.
2. Yeh Pulu, the relief is carved on rock, located near Goa Gajah, between rice field and ravine. The site was rediscovered in 1925. In 1949 a simple protection was laid out to avoid water flowing on the surface of the relief. It looks like panel with the size of 25 x 2 meters.
3. Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati, located behind the Lotus Cafe.  Indonesia was a Hindu and Buddhist country from the seventh century but converted to Islam through Muslim traders in the sixteenth century, except Bali.
4. Mas Village lies on the main road, 20 km to the north of Denpasar and 6 km before Ubud, in a hilly countryside covered with ricefields and irrigated year-round by the waters of the Batuan aud Sakah river.
